Earlier this summer, my husband Andy and I enjoyed visiting southwest Utah with our kids and their significant others. I wrote about the trip briefly in an earlier post but took time this week to pull together a photo montage of the visit. The work provided a needed break from the political turmoil racking the U.S. and France. In that vein, I hope by watching the dazzling landscapes of Utah, while absorbing the spirited guitar strains of Matheus Canteri, that you too may feel a little lighter and assured of the world’s endless wonder.

Wow. Just wow.
Glad you enjoyed it. Come back soon.
It is always startling to me to be reminded how much of the US is still completely empty. From most of the places shown, you’d think Utah was uninhabited.
What was the thing near the end where there seems to be a transparent dome at ground level with a person’s head sticking up inside it?
Good choice of music.
Bryce and Zion were actually quite crowded. But once you walk a mile or two from any trailhead, the people density goes way down. The other areas were practically empty. We’d see a handful of people over several miles of trail. As my son pointed out, the National Parks have confiscated the most spectacular geological features of our country. But not far outside, you’ll find plenty to see that’s perhaps 96% of the same spectacular.
The dome was in a Visitor Center at Bryce–an exhibit on prairie dogs meant for much smaller children. Ha!
Glad I could return a musical favor after all the enjoyable clips that you posted last month.
Thanks. As it happens, I have another music post up, in case you’re interested.
A very nice hike. Thanks for sharing.
Turmoil indeed.
a fortnight after the election, France still doesn’t have a government…
And with Biden withdrawing -enfin- from the race, the deck of cards has been dealt again…
Au revoir
