My father was a strong advocate of equal rights for all people. I wonder if this charcoal sketch, which was among the watercolors, is of one of his classmates. If so, I’m sure that Dad was friendly and supportive of her. He was a stickler for the underdog.

  1. I remember Dad inviting people to family holiday dinners over the years whom he thought were lonely or disadvantaged in some way.
